A new car by Tesla: welcome to Model III
“The new model is going to be called Model III, we’ll have three bars to represent it and it’ll be S III X!”
It’s now official. Tesla announced a new model that will be available for sale on 2017. The new car is called Model III or Model 3 and it’s the third car produced by the innovative Musk’s company.
After the famous Model S, Roadster and the newest Model X now it’s time for a car that is expected to be a direct competitor of the BMW i3 series.
Model III will cost around $35,000 and have a range of 200 miles, the same as the Model S.
This news is part of Tesla’s plan to expand and increase the volume of new cars by the next years also thanks to the Gigafactory. The huge new Tesla‘s factory will likely be located in Nevada, Arizona, California, New Mexico, or Texas and will produce batteries for Tesla’s electric vehicles and also external customers (maybe Mercedes and Nissan).
The Gigafactory is expected to produce around 500,000 vehicles by 2020 and reduce batteries costs around 30%.
Tesla will also work on the empowerment of existing models, such as the Roadster, with a new battery that should give it a 400 miles range.
With the new Model III Tesla’s dream is to revolutionize the automotive industry making it more affordable and accessible. This is a great commitment by one of the most innovative enterprise on earth and its brilliant CEO Elon Musk.
Is it enough to start re-thinking about the future of electric vehicles?
