LG reveals the new G Watch R with a round design
After the first squared G Watch, LG unveils a brand new design for the G Watch R.
The smart move, just anticipated a little the another awaited smartwatch, the MOTO 360. The device, running Android Wear, comes with a 1.3-inch Plastic OLED (P-OLED) full 360-degree display. The Korean company is trying to give another choice to its customers and also focus on a more classical design for a consumer market.
What’s inside: Nothing has been really improved compared to the squared one. The R comes with a 410mAh battery, just a 10mAh improvement over the G Watch. That means we shouldn’t expect to get more than a day or so on a single charge. So we’ll probably have to wait for a long-lasting battery. As for the smartphones, battery life is still something that must be improved.
All the other technical specs are the same, too. It comes with interchangeable 22mm straps, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage. It’s also rated IP67 for water resistance, just like the last one was.
What’s new: It comes with a heart rate monitor underneath and a new power button on the side.
Price is still undisclosed and the official launch will be around November.
