How to cut your smartphone addiction with one simple action
How many times a day are you checking your smartphone?
Probably you have lost the count, as I do. I often think about how mobile phones and smartphone are changing our habits and in person communication. The first thing we do when we wake up is to check our smartphone with the same anxiety a smoker has when he fires up the first cigarette of the day.
We don’t even open our eyes that we flash ourself with the screen light, almost getting blind!

And the same thing is in the evenings, the last thing most of use do, even the last second before closing the eyes, is to check, for the last time, our mobile phones. We are literally slaves of notifications, mails, messages, apps and social that we are sacrificing moments we could pass with our partners, family and friends.
May be you can’t avoid to bring your smartphones with you during the day but you can do something to detox at least during the evenings.
One simple tip, but yet very effective: leave your smartphones out of your bedroom.
Or, if you need it for the alarm clock, put it in airplane mode as soon as you walk in your room. It is a simple and daily routine that will give you more quite time for you and for other non-digital activities. You can read a book, talk, think or doing anything else. You’ll really notice a higher quality of sleep.
This daily detox will also relax your body and mind, preparing you for a better sleep and so, a better day. Is it really so important to stay connected till the last second of your day?
No, it’s not. You will always think to miss something while you are not connected, but don’t worry: if the world is ending you’ll ear the noise! 🙂
So remember: NO SMARTPHONES IN YOUR BEDROOM.
