A card that can replace all your credit cards

all credit cards in one

NFC and mobile payments are cool. You can pay directly with your smartphone without even puling out your wallet. Easy as launching an app.

Problem is: are retailers and point of sales ready to accept NFC and mobile payments? Yes, but only a limited number. For sure it’s the future, I a mean Apple Pay is amazing and it’s really something changing the way we are used to purchase.

Credit cards are an old payment method, weak, easy to be manipulated. Basically it’s decades that there aren’t substantial changes or innovation for credit cards.

So, what about something that is a mix between a plastic credit card and a digital service, integrated with an app and collecting all your credit cards in one?

It’s name is Plastc. It’s simple plastic card, tiny just 0,8mm, with both an NFC and a EMV reader, a general shift to more-secure chip-based card readers. The card will store all your credit cards credentials and when you need a specific card, you just need to swipe on the display and choose the credit card you want.

With a magnetic stripe and barcode display, your Plastc Card will work in all the places you already frequent. Plus, with NFC and Chip and PIN capabilities a software update away, you’ll soon be ready for the future of payments.

Plastc it’s also synchronized with your mobile app, so it will automatically go in “Return Me” mode when you are too far from it. This is an additional security tool that regular credit cards don’t have. Moreover you have to insert a PIN code on its E-ink screen every time you want to use it. The battery lasts up to 30 days and it’s easy rechargeable.

“I will utilize Apple Pay because it’s simple and easy, but there are so many use cases in our world where I’m still going to need a physical card. There are so many things that point-of-sale machines just aren’t ready for yet” said Ryan Marquis, Plastc COO to The Verge
